Taste and See
My Debut Single!!
Taste and See was originally created from the verse coming to my mind. It then kind of just formed itself from there. I filtered through many different verses, trying to convey the message behind this verse before finally settling on how he refreshes and revitalises us.
For me personally, I see this song as one that reflects the goodness of God, and how, whenever and wherever we are, not only do we always need God, but he’ll always be there to sustain us – because we couldn’t live without him. However, it’s not just transactional. Once we taste and see that He’s good, we can then live in the promise He’s created for us, and begin spreading the gospel. For me, it also reestablishes our free will. We have the choice and need to make the move in order to even taste His goodness for ourselves. God allows us to choose whether or not we “try him out to see what we think” (much like food), and once we realise that there is quite literally nothing better than Him (like how no food is better or more universal than potatoes), then we can decide to live for him. He never forces us to taste and see, we make that first move, and we always come back for more.
Psalm 139 (I Can’t Escape Your Love)
Psalm 139 was actually the first song written for the album Taste and See and truly has come to a beautiful place. Not out of the intent to just be ✨different✨ we haven’t derived from the most famous section of this psalm, we came up with the chorus, which sets the tone of the song. This song fits with the theme across Taste and See – the revitalising power of God that we have daily access to. Psalm 139 is about our human urgency to run away from any and everything that intimidates us – and God has been with us the entire time, ready for us to lean onto him when we feel as though we can’t breathe. The vision for this song is to declare his Presence and love dwelling within us, never leaving or forsaking us no matter where we are
Album – Coming Soon
My debut album, it’s coming soon, and I can’t wait to share the stories of all the songs and the heart behind this album. But for now, I just want you to know that you should fix your eyes on Jesus, and taste and see that He is good
